Click on images to enlarge.The Focus of the pen is it body with a scrimshaw perfectly executed by artists. A scrimshaw is the old art of hand cutting ivory and filling the engraved area with a special ink. The design represents scenes from Dante's journey into Hell and Purgatory. The cap symbolizes Paradise with its angel-shaped clip and delicate ornaments. The Celluloid material is vintage (circa 1960's) which is no longer available in the market.
The filling system uses the unique Visconti patented double reservoir system, which accommodates up to seven times the amount of ink other pens hold, yet allows the owner to travel with complete peace of mind. The unusually short cap allows the reservoir to be fully visible even when the pen is capped, so there is no need to unscrew the cap to check the level of ink.
The outer box is made with the finest leather, and is bookshaped. It contains the pen, a hand made paper with a lithography of the artwork with contains the guarantee, and bas relief executed expressly for Visconti, representing Dante's image.
