Dani Trio Maki-e Go-Sei Fountain Pen Collection

Product Description
GO-SEI (right)
Go-Sei in Japanses means "five pure things". The design is very popular in Japan and commonly used for joyous events like the New Year and other important holidays. The five flowers and trees are Orchid (Lan) for Spring, Bamboo (Take) for Summer, Chrysanthemum (Kiku) for Autumn, Japanese Apricot (Ume) for winter, and Pine (Matsu) for Longevity and Happiness.
Matsu is recognized as the best grade when it is used for ranking items. For example, when the menu at a sushi bar shows Matsu, Take and Ume for sushi dishes, Matsu is the best of all.
KIKU (center)
Kiku (Chrysanthemum) is the emblem of the Japanese Emperor's Family, and the national flower of Japan. It is widely used as a motif in Japanese artwork.
CHOO - THE COSMOS (left)
The technique used on this pen with gold flakes set-in (Marugata Chirashi) is now seldom used. The RADEN (shells inlaid in blue/green) symbolizes the cosmos.
"Art must have its philosophy. Art is the battlefield of souls. Where materials and theme agree, there is wonderful art. Every creative activity is based on continuty of rhythm. - AKIO"
